Today is the birthday of Professor John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973), Professor at the University of Oxford and Author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
The Tolkien Society invites us to raise a glass today and toast the Professor!

Hey, I wish I had known it was JRR's birthday. I was drinking a glass of good red wine and I could have toasted him.
Your New Year's goals are admirable. I particularly hope you get your final course done! What a tremendous accomplishment. Of course, paying off credit card debt would also be a wonderful thing. You have two very happy days (at least!) ahead of you this year. And two very good occasions to go off your diet :)
Great Goals! When you are feeling discouraged remember how far you have come. If you need help remembering call someone who can remind you. You've come a long way!
